Role:
Our client, a prominent entity in the defence & security sector, is currently seeking a Firing Units Design Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Stevenage. This role involves working fully onsite for an initial 6-month contract. The role requires significant expertise in areas such as scheduling, cost management, engineering, and design.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing cost, schedule, quality, and performance for tasks within the specific skill domain and reporting to the Engineering Project Manager.
2. Developing technical solutions in coordination with other skill domains.
3. Coordinating resources to deliver project tasks in the designated skill area.
4. Applying relevant development methods and processes.
5. Supporting and coordinating technical problem solving and analysis.
6. Providing schedule and cost estimates for tasks validated by line managers.
7. Reporting progress and issues to the Engineering Project Manager and line manager.
Job Requirements:
1. Experience in scheduling, cost management, engineering, and design specifically within the defence sector.
2. Strong organisational and project management skills.
3. Ability to apply relevant development methods and process towards efficient project delivery.
4. Excellent technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
5. Effective communication and reporting abilities.
6. Capability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Participation:
1. In project/product delivery reviews internal to EE.
2. In peer reviews.
3. In design reviews.
