The middle office as a whole must ensure the accurate capture of the business’ transactions, systematically managing product complexity, capturing the subsequent market risks resulting from these transactions, and representing accurate PnL for our Traders.
Our Middle Office currently supports approx. 80 traders with a trade volume of 105,000 per day, due to this high demanding volume we have to ensure our controls monitoring this population are accurately and efficiently completed.
As a Middle Office Transaction Processing Analyst in Market Operations, you will be providing direct support to senior Operational Management with respect to the Rates Risk Middle Office, acting as a key point of contact for downstream groups, whilst leading process improvements.
Job responsibilities
1. Performs deal reviews within the Service Level Agreement which involves reviewing term sheet versus risk management systems and legal confirmation versus risk management systems
2. Monitors Middle Office trade lifecycle event processing to understand the key manual touch-points themes and display the impact of this via suitable MIS
3. Identified problems area and builds relationships across the business to create working groups and initiate change discussions
4. Liaises with Marketing support, Trade Support and other Back Office control groups
5. Ensures accurate reviews and timely escalation of unissued/unexecuted documents
6. Drives efficiency in the current process and identify incorrect booking practices and educate Middle Office on the impact
7. Builds and sustains strong working relationships with internal Lines of Business including Middle Office, Front Office, and internal Counterparts
8. Ensures all issues are investigated and resolved in a timely manner as per Business Standards
9. Prepares weekly MIS and monthly control packs for Senior Management
10. Analyses MIS and report trends and spikes
11. Participates in various testing related to system enhancement, project implementation, and new business initiatives
12. Identifies control gaps and suggest improvement ideas for better efficiency and effectiveness
