First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our reputable client who is seeking a Multi Trade Operative to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the duties of an experienced ‘Wet Room’ installer in the field of Disabled Adaptations within the Building Division and to support the provision of contracted building services. Installations are typically undertaken in occupied premises and Sheltered Housing
This role will be based in Surrey and SW London locations.
My client is a property maintenance and installation organisation, the mechanical arm specialises in the servicing, repair and installation of gas central heating and hot water services to local authority and Housing Association landlords. The Building Division is primarily Disabled Adaptations contracting organisation which specialises in providing planned and reactive works to occupied premises, predominantly within public sector housing arena but also for private landlords. The Building Division also undertakes planned and reactive works in building maintenance, specialising in void refurbishment works
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner.
2. Ensure all aspects of Health & Safety guidance and regulations are applied and observed at all times to protect all members of the public and work colleagues.
3. To deliver a complete and professional service to all Clients and customers, ensuring customer satisfaction to the highest levels.
4. Comply with all aspects of Diversity and Equalities Code of Conduct.
5. To work as an individual or as part of a team of highly skilled and professional tradespersons maintaining high standards of service provision at all times.
6. To maintain all plant, equipment and vehicles within your control to the highest level of standards and efficiencies and report any incidents however minor to a line manager.
7. To comply with company’s internal procedures including purchasing, receiving and returning of goods, hiring of plant and equipment, use of purchase trade card.
8. To comply with company’s internal reporting processes outlined in iAuditor’s inspections and via Power App.
9. To comply with internal procedures and guidelines set out by QHSE, Transport and HR.
10. To undertake any associated trade tasks that are within the competence of the individual and that are within the confines of health and safety legislation.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
Essential:
11. Minimum of 2 years wet room installation /construction site experience.
12. Experience in a customer service type role, dealing directly with residents.
13. Climbing stairs and roles with a high degree of mobility, i.e. walking/lifting/loading & unloading vehicles.
14. City & Guilds / time served trades person.
15. Certificate of Asbestos Awareness Training. (If the successful candidate does not hold this, my client is willing to provide).
16. Hot works training.
17. Good understanding of verbal and written instructions incl drawings, OT specifications.
18. Understanding of and commitment to providing high quality services and customer care.
19. Willingness and ability to undertake further training and development related to the role.
20. Able to work self-supervised.
21. Understanding of and commitment to equality and diversity.
22. Adept at establishing relationships with all parties involved in the construction process that facilitate harmonious working relationships during project, and permit prompt resolution of problems and conflicts as they occur.
23. Full Clean driving license.
Desirable:
24. Certificate of Training Achievement for Working at Height, Manual Handling, First Aid (1-Day), or other.
25. Installation of vinyl safety flooring.
