Job description
You will be responsible for undertaking the Systems Engineering activities as part of one or more multi-disciplinary project teams, ensuring mechanical, electrical, and software design aspects are coherent and that ultimately the system meets the customer need.
You will enjoy the challenges of system complexity and conflicting requirements and have a keen eye for detail. You will be given the opportunity to play a leading role in the delivery of projects with significant levels of responsibility over project risks, cost, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Requirements Capture and management.
2. Functional and Physical Systems Architecture Design and Definition.
3. System Modelling.
4. Development of Engineering Management Plans (Safety Management, Test Integration & Acceptance, Technical Risk Management).
5. Gathering of verification evidence for System Requirements.
6. Creation of Procurement Specifications for sub-systems and components.
7. Writing test specifications.
8. Conducting Design reviews.
9. Environmental Qualification Plans (EMC, Temperature, Shock & Vibration).
Skills & Experience
Essential:
10. A good degree in Engineering or physical sciences.
11. Minimum of 5 years' systems engineering experience in a defence engineering (or similar) company.
12. Proficient in the use of requirements management tools (DOORS, Visure or R4J).
13. Work package management in JIRA.
14. Proficient in Report Writing.
Desirable:
15. Technical Leadership of project teams with a significant level of responsibility for managing project risks and for delivering on time and on budget.
16. Experience in working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
17. Working in multi-disciplinary teams on projects with a high level of complexity.
18. Safety Management (MIL-STD 882E, DEF-STAN 00-56, ISO 12100:2010).
19. Statutory Compliance (CE Marking).
20. Camera Sensor Technology (InfraRed and visible spectrum, DRI performance).
21. Fault-Tree and Failure Mode Analysis.
