Our apprentices are the future of our business. On our 39-month apprenticeship programme you will learn the skills to become a successful Temperature Control Engineer with a fantastic range of future career options ahead of you. Our specialist engineers work on a large selection of fluid chillers, air handler units, heat exchangers and fluid pumps, installing and commissioning equipment on a variety of sites including TV & Film sets, petrochemical refineries and large-scale facilities management sites. We deliver specialist cooling and heating solutions across the UK, with this apprenticeship based at our Colnbrook site and situated locally to large film studios in London. With the current levels of advancement in technology, there could not be a more exciting time to join us and following successful completion of your apprenticeship you will be offered a permanent role, with one of the best rental equipment providers in the industry.
Daily you’ll work within one of our service centres where you will learn to:
1. Service and repair a diverse fleet of specialist temperature control equipment, such as fluid chillers, pumps, heat exchangers and air handling equipment
2. Inspect and performance test a wide range of equipment in preparation for hire
3. Assess equipment to ensure compliance with the correct operational and safety guidelines
4. Diagnose and rectify both simple and complex faults and perform effective repairs
5. Order replacement parts and fit them correctly, within specified time scales
6. Maintain accurate and comprehensive service and maintenance records
7. Develop in-depth product knowledge – becoming an expert in the field of temperature control
8. Participate in project management meetings and customer site visits
9. Build excellent working relationships with customers and understand their business needs and requirements
10. Become an ambassador for our “Customer First” culture, resolving any issues quickly and keeping your colleagues and customers informed, so they feel truly valued
11. Expand your team working skills with your colleagues and the wider Sunbelt Rentals team
12. Manage multiple tasks and deadlines as part of a varied workday in a fast-paced operational environment
We’ll provide you with a comprehensive company induction, role-specific training, and apprenticeship support. You will become a part of a larger apprentice cohort where you will be able to form lifelong relationships and engage in a wider support network.
We’ll also support your personal growth and development in line with your Sunbelt Rentals career aspirations. You will attend both in-house and manufacturer courses to expand your product knowledge and skills.
Apprenticeship Training
You will be completing a level 3 Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard. This will be delivered using a combination of:
13. Workplace experience to gain practical skills
14. Guidance and training from an experienced workplace mentor
15. Industry recognised training leading to an apprenticeship qualification. You will attend the College of Northwest London one day per week for training
