Richmond Medical and Whitefield HC are looking for a Research Nurse/AHP (Allied Health Professional). For 15 hours over 2 to 3 days per week
We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our supportive and dedicated Practice Team. Richmond Medical Centre is also a linked surgery with Whitefield Health Care at Nelson, the Research Hub is based in Accrington within the Acorn Primary Care Health Centre.
We have a lead Principal Investigator, a GP with a special interest in developing our research offering to our local practice populations, by providing the opportunities to take part in clinical research trials that can enhance and improve patient outcomes.
The successful applicant will work as part of the team, within the Primary Care Medical Practice setting, with the research administrator to develop our research portfolio, and deliver services from this unit and our linked surgery. This will include being the key contact for patients enrolled on clinical trials, ensuring optimal communication and high standards of patient care in accordance with the principles of GCP.

An expected part of this role is to complete Good Clinical Practice and other courses that may be required for this role.
Main duties of the job

1. Primarily work under the supervision of the Lead Principal Investigator (GP) to agree appropriate studies and play a key role in the day-to-day running of clinical research.
2. Central to the role are the recruitment, education and monitoring of patients entering the clinical research, monitoring, tracking and sharing this information with the practice team.
3. Working closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team, to support patients who choose to participate in clinical trials by providing advice and information and acting as the patients key point of contact.

5. The ability to communicate information regarding the research opportunities to patients and be supportive to them during the recruitment process.
6. Excellent planning and organisational skills are required for onboarding new recruits to the trials and meeting all the required elements of multiple projects at once.
7. Proficient in record keeping and accuracy of recording information to the studies own software package that may have unique requirements for various cohorts of patients for the same study.
8. To carry out clinical duties as required to meet the needs of the study.
9. To liaise with the team to complete elements of the study that may not be part of the AHP/Nurse role
10. To create/provide a robust system to report to the team on a monthly basis, an outline of the study, patient numbers recruited and each element of the study that has been completed and submitted.
