AIVR (Automated Intelligent Video Review) is a state-of-the-art video technology system used by thousands of people in the rail industry. Could that be you? Role Summary We are looking for an experienced technical manager to help drive technical development across our portfolio of projects and products. Working closely with our technology, delivery and business development teams in our Bristol office, your job will be to ensure that our final outputs meet and exceed the needs of our clients and that our utilisation of internal technical resources is effective on a day to day basis. One Big Circle is a product company where our project delivery and internal product development are tightly linked, and you will be at the forefront of helping to decide our product strategy and development roadmap. Our projects are usually a mix of software, hardware and integration works. This is an office-based position, presence in the office is critical for success in this role. Responsibilities Day to day line management of software team members. Ensure that development is prioritised correctly across the team in order to meet requirements, budget and timelines. Communicate proactively across the rest of the organisation and translate/disseminate business strategy and priorities into technical delivery. Recruit, on-board and develop junior team members. Identify and mitigate technical risks. Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, often acting as a technical point of contact in project meetings. Continually develop an understanding of our products and technical capabilities, acting as a trusted representative in project delivery. Personal Qualities and Experience 5 years experience delivering software in industry. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Clear aptitude and appetite for managing technical resources and external stakeholders. Proactive, self-motivated and well organised. Strong client and outcome focused work ethic. Experience in rail or similar industry is desirable. Flexible and adaptable style of approach but with meticulous and systematic attention to detail when it matters. Strong written communication skills, including document/specification writing. Full UK Driving licence and willingness to drive to various UK site locations occasionally.
