CK Group are recruiting for a Commerical Product Manager on behalf of a medical diagnostic company to support the development of solutions that meet customer requirements across a broad range of applications. This role is 50% field based and 50% based in Gateshead. It is a permanent role with Mon-Fri day time working hours.
The Role:
The main goal of this role is to support commercial success for the business through technical knowledge and understanding of customer needs. It is expected that this role will also involve some commercial skill development. The role requires a high degree of problem solving ability and lateral thinking to deliver to customer expectations and develop new solutions alongside existing solutions for customers
Responsibilities:
* The Commercial Product Manager will be responsible for being a technical point of contact for customers and channel partners
* Provide technical expertise and information to all departments within the company
* Deliver powerful product and software demonstrations and commercial distributor training
* Provide sales and marketing support through technical presentations, seminars, workshops, shows and User Group Meetings alongside webinar development and delivery
* The Commercial Product Manager will assist in the production of technical and commercially relevant marketing materials and ensure continuity of messaging throughout sales, marketing and channels
* They will manage and work with the Continuous Product Development team to ensure that all products stay relevant to the changing needs of customers and relevant to the most up to date guidance
* The Commercial Product Manager will work closely with sales and technical to ensure that all products are keeping pace with market dynamics and drive Post Market Surveillance discussions and act as a champion for upcoming needs
* The Commercial Product Manager will work directly with customers to implement projects in relevant areas and gather feasibility data for Continuous Product Development
* Delivering powerful product demonstrations and developing new applications and solutions that are right size for customer requirements
* Deliver technical assistance to commercial team for tender submissions
* Develop commercial skills with guidance and assistance from Commercial Associate Director and Commercial Team to represent the business to the highest possible standards and achieve high levels of revenue growth for the business
* Deliver presentations, webinars, product demonstrations to customers and give strong and considered technical solutions in conjunction with the commercial team
* Travel in UK and potentially globally will be required in this role with considerable overnight stays expected to deliver to customer expectations
* Work with existing customers to continually improve services and solutions for that customer in conjunction with account management
Your Background:
* Relevant analytical or clinical laboratory experience (capillary electrophoresis preferred)
* Experience in customer facing role
* Educated to post graduate level in life sciences or analytical chemistry or relevant experience
* Creative and intellectually curious scientist capable of engaging with complex projects whilst being commercially aware and focused on delivery of strong sales revenue
* Ability to work with minimal supervision
* Experience of Capillary Electrophoresis desirable but not required
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Ability to prioritise and carry out multiple tasks simultaneously
* Highly customer focused
* Strong verbal, written and listening communication skills to understand complex customer projects
* Desire to develop career down a commercially focused track
* Ability to travel extensively within the UK and potentially globally
