Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Deputy Care Home Manager to work along side our Registered Manager, to lead our dedicated team, and to ensure the delivery of excellent care services to our residents. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the care sector, and a genuine passion for improving the quality of life for elderly individuals. We are looking someone to join us that can demonstrate strong personal practice and has the ability to grow and develop new and existing staff to meet key organisation plans in 2024. The successful candidate will demonstrate how they share, and will uphold, our core values and be able to demonstrate how their practice aligns with our vision.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Management:
· Lead and manage the care home, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
· Inspire and motivate a team of care professionals to provide person-centered care.
· Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional development.
2. Quality Care Provision:
· Oversee and coordinate resident care plans, ensuring they are tailored to individual needs and preferences using our electronic care management systems.
· Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care services, making continuous improvements to enhance the overall quality of care.
· Implement and maintain robust health and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of residents and staff.
3. Regulatory Compliance:
· Ensure the care home operates in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.
· Work closely with regulatory bodies, participating in inspections and audits to maintain high standards of care.
4. HR Management:
· Undertake various aspects of HR Management including and not limited to:
· Recruitment and onboarding of new staff including regulatory compliance
· Sickness and Absence Management
· Disciplinary and Competency procedures
· Formulating staff rotas in line with financial budgets and dependency based requirements.
5. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
· Establish strong communication channels with residents, their families, and staff members.
· Collaborate with healthcare professionals, local authorities, and community organisations to enhance the overall care and support network.
6. Business Management, Sales and Finance:
· Securing and maintaining high levels of home occupancy
· Admission and discharge of new clients
· Family liaison and customer service
7. Qualifications and Skills:
· Proven experience as a Care Home Manager or similar leadership role.
· NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification preferable or willingness to work towards
· In-depth knowledge of care home regulations, standards, and best practices.
· Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
· Excellent organisational and decision-making abilities.
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Commitment to promoting a person-centered approach to care.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
· Previous Experience using PCS (Person Centred Software) preferable.
