Are you an accomplished investment professional with a strong background in discretionary portfolio management and team leadership? Our client, a highly respected financial planning and investment management firm, is seeking an experienced Discretionary Portfolio Manager & Branch Principal to join their team. You will play a pivotal role in managing client portfolios, developing new business, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while leading a skilled team of investment management professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Client Management
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as their trusted investment advisor.
* Deliver bespoke portfolio updates and respond to client queries.
* Develop comprehensive risk management and tax planning strategies.
* Prepare and present reports and reviews tailored to client needs.
Discretionary Portfolio Management
* Develop and execute tailored investment strategies across multi-asset portfolios.
* Monitor portfolio performance and make adjustments to optimise returns.
* Conduct detailed financial research and analysis to identify opportunities.
* Leverage financial modelling for informed investment decisions.
Branch Principal Duties
* Ensure compliance with all the firm's policies, regulatory requirements, and risk-management standards.
* Manage branch operations, audits, and client accounts.
* Provide leadership, technical direction, and training to team members.
* Stay abreast of market trends and regulatory changes, ensuring best practices.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven expertise in discretionary portfolio management and business development.
* Strong quantitative, critical thinking, and risk management skills.
* In-depth knowledge of investment and insurance products.
* Demonstrated ability to build a book of business (ideally bringing a client base).
* Effective communication, networking, and leadership abilities.
* Experience with financial planning tools such as FE Analytics or Morningstar is a plus.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
* CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or Certified Financial Planner qualification.
* MBA or similar postgraduate degree (desirable).
