Description of Role:
To actively promote the rights of young people as individuals and provide them with quality care in accordance with the policies and procedures of Duty of Care Limited. To assist in the provision of a safe and homely environment both individually and as part of a team to help young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties achieve their full potential by strengthening areas of weakness and developing areas of strength. As a Senior Residential Care Worker you will be expected to take the lead role while on shift and guide and support other staff members. You will be expected to ensure you promote the policies and procedures of Duty of Care with all staff and challenge appropriately when these are not being followed or refer it onto the registered manager. The ability to maintain confidentiality of client information is also important.
What we would like from you:
* At least 2 years’ experience of working with children and young people in a residential setting in the last 5 years
* Experience of working within a team. Experience of the keeping of administration records.
* Must have a good academic achievement in numeracy and literacy (GCSE Grade A-C in maths and English) or equivalent such as key skills level 2 – Good ICT skills
* Possess the level 3 Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce and be willing to work towards a leadership or management qualification
All staff will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle due to the job role and the location
