Agency Youth Worker for Semi-Independent Living Service
Are you passionate about empowering and supporting young individuals as they transition into independent living? We are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Agency Youth Workers to join our team at our clients Semi-Independent Living Service in Wokingham. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people and assist them in building a strong foundation for their future.

Responsibilities:
Provide direct support and guidance to young individuals residing in a Semi-Independent Living Service, ensuring their well-being and promoting their personal development.
Collaborate with young residents to assess their needs, goals, and aspirations, and develop individualized support plans to help them achieve independence.
Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment, offering emotional support, guidance, and life skills training to enhance their self-confidence and resilience.
Empower and assist residents in developing essential life skills, such as budgeting, cooking, personal hygiene, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Facilitate workshops and activities that promote personal growth, education, employment, and community engagement.
Advocate on behalf of young residents to ensure they have access to appropriate resources, services, and educational opportunities.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with external agencies, educational institutions, employers, and community partners to create pathways for residents’ success.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of resident progress, support plans, and relevant documentation, adhering to data protection regulations and organizational policies.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including colleagues, external agencies, and stakeholders, to provide holistic support and a coordinated approach to resident care.
Qualifications and Skills:
Previous experience working with young individuals in a similar role, such as youth work, social work, or residential support, is preferred.
Passion for supporting young people as they navigate the challenges of transitioning into independent living.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build trusting relationships with young residents and collaborate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
Ability to actively listen, provide guidance, and empower young individuals to make positive life choices.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, community resources, and support services for young individuals transitioning into independent living.
Basic computer literacy to maintain records and utilize relevant software applications.
Flexibility in working hours, including availability for evening and weekend shifts, to provide optimal support coverage.
