Role: Test Engineer (Battery/Energy testing)
Location: Buckinghamshire - onsite 5 days a week
Type: Two positions available - either permanent or contract roles
Reporting to: Electrical Laboratory Manager
Russell Taylor has two opportunities for Test Engineers to join a Global Testing Organisation on a contract or permanent basis to work in their testing laboratory. Our client is open to both senior and more junior options but would like candidates to have some exposure to product safety testing, EV charging, BESS, energy or to any of the following standards: IEC/EN 50549, UL 1741 SA, IEEE 1547, 60335, 62368, 60730.
Responsibilities:
1. Complete safety evaluations and products to ensure that they meet specific requirements to the testing standards.
2. Work across multiple departments and provide support to operations, sales, and marketing.
3. Provide support on technical issues, test procedures, and standards interpretations.
4. Provide quotes for projects.
5. Research new standards and trends.
6. Support accreditation activities such as audit follow-up and corrective actions.
7. Assess technical documentation and processes against standard requirements.
8. Complete preliminary design reviews (PDR) both on and off site.
9. Develop, set up, and follow test plans.
10. Provide project updates to customers.
11. Provide technical support for internal and external audits.
12. Attend customer calls and meetings.
The Role:
1. Background in electrical/electronics.
2. Background in product safety testing, EV charging, BESS, energy or to any of the following standards: IEC/EN 50549, UL 1741 SA, IEEE 1547, 60335, 62368, 60730.
3. Good IT Skills, experience with Excel, Word, and data retention systems.
4. Experience of working in accordance with a Quality Management System.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other members of the team.
6. Knowledge and experience of certification schemes.
7. Experience of generating test reports for customers and certification purposes.
