Job summary – What to expect:
As a Business Development Manager of our Sales Team, you will effectively plan territory coverage, deliver a blended contact strategy and build strong business relationships with customers to achieve an annual territory sales target and personal performance objectives. You will maximise results through delivering agreed priorities, setting up and implementing commercial business plans with customers within the designated territory area and in line with company objectives and policies.
1. Sales management of all customers within the defined territory providing a principle point of contact for Cooper Vision with the overall objective of achieving long term, year on year sales growth
2. Day to day management of the territory, designated customers and Cooper Vision’s products and services.
3. To develop and introduce new products to customers on behalf of the Company to maximize the opportunities presented.
4. To ensure outstanding knowledge of Cooper Visions products, clinical and technical information, product strategy, market and commercial positioning and brand messages to assist customers in selecting those best suited to their needs.
5. To deliver training programmes to retail staff as agreed to improve knowledge of CooperVision’s products and placement.
6. To organise and execute clinical training in liaison with the Professional Services team to improve clinical knowledge of employees and build brand loyalty
7. To form close relationships with Regional Managers and representatives within the account structure to provide the platform for commercial, retail training and educational programmes.
8. To represent the Company at seminars, exhibitions and meetings as required to enhance the customer experience when interacting with CooperVision’s team members.

About you:
You will be a sales professional with experience in a sales environment and have demonstrable experience in defining and achieving sales results through demonstration of acute business acumen. Additionally, you will work well under pressure, have strong prisonisation and organisation skills, be a great communicator with excellent personal skills, and be tenacious and resilient.
Experience & Education:
Required
9. Demonstrable experience and track record in defining and achieving sales results.
10. Awareness and ability to make a positive impact with prospective, existing customers and others in a coaching style
11. Enviable track record of achievement (target achievements) gained from organizations that demonstrate and require strong interpersonal skills to influence at all levels of management.
12. Strong relationship builder with enhanced listening and coaching skills
13. Understanding of investigative questioning and sales process
14. Highly pro-active and able to work successfully alone as well as within a team to pre-determined objectives.
15. Ability to manage a large geographical sales area.
16. Works well under pressure
17. Experience in the optical industry preferable
18. Computer literacy including Excel, Word and PowerPoint are essential.
Work Environment:
19. Home based field role with strong preference for living on the designated territory, with approx. 60% of the time spent out of the home visiting customers / colleagues and 40% making phone calls to, and holding virtual meetings with customers
20. Extensive travel across own geographical territory and with occasional travel in UK and internationally.
21. Represent the Company at evening/weekend exhibitions and seminars, including overnight stays and occasional weekend working
