The ideal candidate will have a strong background in children's law, specifically the Children Act, and be passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and families.
Job Title: Senior Paralegal/Legal Assistant
Location: Bodlondeb Council Offices, Bangor Rd, Conwy LL32 8DU
Pay Rate: £15.70 per hour
Job Type: Full Time, 37 hours

1. Provide expert legal advice and support on a wide range of children's matters, including care proceedings, adoption, and child protection cases.
2. Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and families involved in legal proceedings.
3. Prepare and draft legal documents, such as court applications, statements of evidence, and legal correspondence.
4. Represent the Council in court proceedings, advocating for the best interests of children.
5. Liaise with social workers, other professionals, and families to gather information and build strong working relationships.
6. Manage caseloads effectively, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to deadlines.
7. Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and best practices related to children's law.
Qualifications and Experience:
8. Bachelor's degree in law or equivalent qualification.
9. Proven experience as a Senior Paralegal/Legal Assistant or equivalent role within children's law.
10. Strong knowledge and understanding of the Children Act and related legislation.
11. Excellent legal research and writing skills.
12. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
13. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
14. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
