Main duties of the job
ABL Health have been commissioned by Durham County Council to deliver a high quality and specialist stop smoking service across County Durham. The Community Engagement Coordinator will assist the Project Lead (training, marketing and engagement) in increasing engagement and raising the profile of the service through building relationships and delivering training to local partners in the community. This is a varied and exciting role where the post holder will have a real influence on the development of the service. The post holder will take a pro-active lead in building relationships, partnerships, and alliances both internally and externally to increase the number of referrals into the service and expand the reach to the most vulnerable groups.
You will be a motivated, passionate, organised and proactive communicator, with experience working in a community setting. ABL take a strengths-focused asset-based approach to community delivery, looking to innovate and partner, not replicate existing delivery. No two days will be the same in this varied and flexible role. Duties and Responsibilities
The role will be varied, challenging and rewardingas you support and develop the service throughimplementation, delivery and ongoing innovation and service development.
Key responsibilities will be
Workingwith ABLs communication team to help raise the service profile.
Workingclosely with operational colleagues to manage the referral rates and developpartnerships with all potential referrers in your locality.
Implementcommunity targets on Smokefree County Durhams marketing and engagementstrategy, providing regular updates and monitoring progress of communityengagement projects.
Organiseand attend local community events across the county to promote our service andencourage referrals, including workplace health and wellbeing events, healthpromotion events, community fun days, health clinics, youth centre workshops,and school events.
Developand deliver our engagement offer to Children and Young People.
Collaboratewith our digital and communications officer to develop engaging resources forcommunity engagement.
Attendlocal health forums/meetings on a regular basis where required to represent theservice (this will involve some public speaking/presenting).
DeliverBasic Brief Intervention training (presenting via Teams) to client-facingstakeholders across County Durham, to increase signposting/referrals to ourservice from a wide-range of sectors.
Innovativeand open minded to new ideas and piloting of different strategies.
