An opportunity has arisen at Smithybrook View Extra Care Establishment in Clay Cross to recruit six Care Worker (Community) to join our team within the Northeast Extra Care Service.
The role involves delivering a range of tasks to Clients over 24-hour period 7 days a week, with the main aim of promoting and maintaining Client’s independence.
Candidates will be expected to work to the demands of the service and will be required to work on a three-shift rota system including early mornings, afternoons and waking nights. Enhanced rates of pay will be paid for working hours after 7pm at night and before 7am.
Posts available are one x 24-hour post and four x 16-hour posts.
The post holder will be required to undertake day to day task which include, personal care, dressing, undressing, meal preparation, administering medication, monitoring health and wellbeing, supporting clients to access communal areas, and working alongside Health Care Professionals, Together Housing team, families, and colleagues in addition to having the ability to work on your own initiative, as well as contributing to the team.
There will be an expectation to answer and respond to unplanned emergencies and report to the DSO. You will always be required to follow the care support plan in addition to any completed risk assessments and demonstrate your ability to maintain health and safety for Clients and colleagues.
You don’t need previous experience as we’ll give you all training and support you need to complete the role.
