MECHANICAL INSTALLATION ESTIMATOR– AVRS
MIDDLESBROUGH
What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Estimator to join the team at AVRS, a Galliford Try business.
Ideally, you will be based in or around the Middlesbrough area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
Review tender information, read and interpret drawings, undertake site visits, carry out take offs and submit quotes and estimates to clients within the water & Nuclear sectors and write up proposal documents.
1. Receive tender information from clients.
2. Carry out take off of required materials.
3. Undertake site visits where necessary.
4. Negotiation of cost (and approval with line managers)
5. Submit take off to suppliers to provide prices.
6. Calculate cost of installation using bespoke norms.
7. Ensure each tender is completed in line with expectations.
8. Establish and maintain strong working relationship with internal and external stakeholders & management.
9. Good knowledge of relevant legislations, standards, regulations, guides and good practice.
10. Seek, complete and record evidence of, continuing professional development (CPD) in accordance with the requirements of the requirements of the relevant professional Institution.
11. To have thorough knowledge of and compliance with relevant Engineering procedures and standards.
12. To undertake other tasks as instructed by the contract/Project manager
About You:
13. A background in Mechanical Engineering in a process industry such as the water sector.
14. Qualified with suitable experience.
15. Ability to think clearly and demonstrate rational behind proposals.
16. Ability to negotiate.
17. excellent oral & written communication skills.
18. Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and application of electrical principles.
19. Mentoring of junior colleagues, sharing technical knowledge and experience.
