A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a for a full-time Activity Coordinator to join our teams within inpatient services in our Older People's team.
The post is at the Dementia Assessment Unit based on site at Lynfield Mount Hospital, provides 24-hour care to support people with their behavioral and psychological symptoms associated with dementia. Assessment and treatment is provided by our dedicated multidisciplinary team which includes consultant psychiatrists, nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. Sometimes we have students or trainees on placement that may also work with you.
Main duties of the job
As an Activity Coordinator you will work within the team to assist in the delivery of meaningful activity on the ward and within the local community, and support transition from hospital to home or care settings. You will work collaboratively with the wider MDT on the ward. In addition, you will be involved in the service development at the unit.
The role will include some evening and weekend working comprising of hour shifts with relevant pay enhancements as applicable.
We are seeking an innovative individual, able to work collaboratively with service users and staff, and integrate well into the multidisciplinary team on the ward.

Essential
1. Experience of working with Older People Mental health services.
2. Experience of delivering meaningful/therapeutic activity.
Qualifications

3. Numeracy and literacy skills at level 2.
Desirable
4. NVQ III in care; QCF diploma level 111 or equivalent.
Knowledge
Essential
5. Ability to communicate verbal and written English.
6. A basic knowledge/understanding of the mental health act.
7. Knowledge of the Therapy and activity service and how this integrates with the clinical team on the mental health ward.
