Job description
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the certification of large aircraft modifications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and customer requirements. As a part of the global engineering services team, you will collaborate with colleagues across multiple time zones to identify engineering solutions for various aircraft cabin flight deck and cabin interior projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work with the Engineering Manager and global engineering services team to identify engineering requirements and solutions for aircraft cabin flight deck and cabin interior projects.
2. Lead certification activities to ensure compliance with design requirements, serving as a technical focal point for electrical/avionic equipment and systems changes.
3. Compile and review engineering accomplishment documentation, including wiring diagrams, wire routing installation drawings, harness fabrication drawings, and service bulletins.
4. Compile and review certification documents to demonstrate compliance with relevant electrical systems related airworthiness requirements.
5. Review and approve documentation produced by suppliers to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
6. Represent the company in customer meetings, providing on-site support during the embodiment phase of projects.
7. Occasional national and/or international travel to visit customers and subcontractors.
Minimum Qualifications:
8. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Avionic or Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification.
9. Relevant experience in a Electrical or Avionic Design role within a part 21 DOA.
Skills/Experience:
10. Current or recent employment within the aerospace industry, specifically with an EASA Part 21J Design Organisation (or equivalent).
11. Current or recent appointment as an EASA Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) with terms of approval relevant to the Electrical Systems (Panel 5) and/or Avionic Systems (Panel 6) disciplines is highly desired.
12. Comprehensive working knowledge of EASA regulatory and airworthiness requirements, including (E)TSO, CS-25, JAR-25, and FAR-25.
13. Experience in aircraft interior modification programmes, with a focus on electrical systems such as in-flight entertainment, connectivity, cabin and emergency lighting, and other changes related to the introduction of new electrical or electronic equipment.
14. Attention to detail and professional integrity.
15. Ability to work on multiple programmes with varying requirements efficiently and effectively.
16. Strong prioritization and flexibility in response to changing situations and demands.
17. Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
18. Ability to mentor and coach less experienced staff.
19. Experience navigating OEM data systems for specifications and standards.
