Shift Process Engineer Summary Lumentum is currently seeking two Shift Process Engineers to join our team in Caswell, Northamptonshire, UK. This role is shift-based, covering a 24/7 operation with 12-hour rotating shifts. It is suitable for recent graduates as well as experienced technicians. You must be eligible to work in the UK Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for all wafer fab process-related issues. Provide detailed written handovers at the end of each shift. Address and resolve process-related concerns, ensuring smooth fab operations. Facilitate quick material release when possible, while managing the application of holds. Oversee and coordinate timely tool re-qualification following maintenance activities. Support scrap and near-miss events by ensuring swift triage and resolution. Create or implement process deviations (DEVs) as needed, such as raising DEVs for out-of-spec events and assisting manufacturing teams with non-standard work under DEV. Develop measurement macros for new products as they are introduced to the measurement tools. Requirements Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently during off-hours while completing all required tasks. Proficient in using a PC, including Microsoft Office applications. Experience in a wafer fab cleanroom is a plus. Familiarity with Six Sigma or similar methodologies is advantageous. Team player with effective communication skills to achieve goals. Experience with computer-controlled semiconductor processing equipment is a plus. Knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES) like PROMIS is beneficial; full training will be provided. Qualifications HNC or Degree in a science or engineering discipline, or equivalent experience at a technician or senior operator level. Skills Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment and wearing cleanroom attire. Self-motivated, reliable, and with strong communication skills. Ability to work under pressure, independently or as part of a team. Excellent attendance, punctuality, and time management. A professional attitude towards work and colleagues.
