Securitas has unique and extremely important contracts with Fire Services across the UK. We provide contingency fire crews in the event of, a catastrophic incident, pandemic, industrial action or other event that could reduce normal fire service capability.
All training is conducted at the Fire Service College in Moreton in Marsh with meals and accommodation provided; Initial training will be 12 consecutive days followed by annual 6 day refresher training. All training will be paid at a competitive training rate and during deployment you will be paid at a higher rate.
Whilst on deployment there may be instances where there are requirements to work in potentially dangerous environments including but not limited to work at height, confined spaces including partial or total darkness, working outdoors, however this is where your training supports you.

Job Opportunity
* Ensure competencies through continued professional development on an annual basis to remain deployable
* Have the ability to work at height within confined spaces including partial or total darkness, work outdoors
* Where applicable, wear breathing apparatus
* Wear and maintain personal protective equipment, taking note of any corrective actions in line with company policy
* Monitor Security and Fire related equipment, ensuring faults are reported correctly.
* Deal sensitively with people in difficult, trying and ambiguous situations
* To travel and be away from home for prolonged periods
* Whilst in times of ‘stand-down’ on operational assignment partake in scenario-based and continuation training.
* Be prepared to move and deploy at short notice any time day or night to a central ‘muster point’ in Central London
* Within a team and as an individual using common sense, initiative and to carry out duties that would normally be conducted by regular fire-fighters.
* Promoting a professional image of Securitas.
Essential Skills
What you will bring to be an Emergency Fire Officer:
* Provide the right to work in the UK and pass security clearance.
* Be able to work as an individual & as part of a team
* Must be physically fit and capable of taking part in rescue simulation and emergency procedures, wearing and using heavy equipment.
* Able to work at heights, in confined dark spaces.
* Clean-shaven due to being able to wear a face respirator when required
* An understanding of the need to portray a professional image at all times.
* Ability to deal with situations politely, tactfully & with discretion.
* Ability to retain & maintain a comprehensive & up-to-date knowledge of Security & Fire Safety systems & procedures
* Able to evidence basic computer skills & possess the ability to self-teach & learn how to operate software tools & databases.
* Ability to be adaptable & responsive to sudden changes in priorities, plans & schedules.
