Executive Chef- Event Catering Company – Northamptonshire

They cater for a wide range of events from private dinner parties to weddings and formal balls. Combining their passion with local produce, innovative chefs, and extensive experience in catering, they provide an experience to remember. Originating from a beautiful, small, family-run farm in Northamptonshire, the company caters for events throughout East Anglia, including Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Bedfordshire, and Buckinghamshire as well as the Midlands and beyond. The Executive Chef will oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service. This role requires a creative and strategic leader who can develop and execute an innovative menu, manage kitchen staff, and maintain a positive and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for culinary excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. You will lead on creative menu development using the seasons and local produce to guide you.
2. Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and consistency.
3. Manage and train kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
4. Collaborate with the management team to plan and execute special events, seasonal menus, and promotions.
5. Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and waste, ensuring efficient use of resources.
6. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
7. Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, sourcing the best ingredients for our dishes.
8. Continuously explore new culinary trends and techniques to keep our offerings fresh and exciting.
Qualifications:
9. Proven 2-3 years experience as an Executive Chef with event experience dealing with large banquet numbers up to 500 plus guests.
10. Exceptional culinary skills with a strong understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
11. Excellent organisational and time management skills.
12. Responsible for Health and Safety and compliance.
13. Knowledge of budgeting, stock control, cost management.
14. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – It is very important you gel with the team.
15. Natural leader who thrives sometimes under pressure in a busy environment.
16. Experience with a fine dining establishment or 1-2 AA Rosette level is preferred but not essential.
17. Hours could be flexible to suit you. Part time/ Full time hours can be discussed.
Salary region of £55k- £60k
