Job Description
Due to continued growth, we are now seeking a Transport Planner to join our Transport team at our Rugby site.
As Transport Planner you will contribute to the success of the transport team, you will be responsible for completing and overseeing the day-to-day planning function of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a quick and fast-paced environment and be able to deal with day to day challenges in providing an effective transport plan.
This is a full time, permanent position working: 4 on 4 off Days.
Salary - £29,700
Location – Rugby
Job responsibilities of Transport Planner include:
1. Work with Transport and Warehouse teams, to create an efficient transport plan using the latest TMS
2. Subcontracting and planning orders from multiple sites across the UK
3. Planning daily workload of fleet: vehicles based on site and out bases
4. Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that may arise
5. Planning collections per day on a time critical basis
6. Maintaining and exceeding agreed KPI’s
7. Proactively look for continuous improvements
8. Be able to make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale
9. Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business particularly at peak periods during the year
10. Efficiently utilise the Culina Group network in support Stobart’s when volumes dictate.
Qualifications
To apply for the role of Transport Planner, you will possess the following skills, experiences and qualifications:
11. Good geographical knowledge of the UK
12. Proficient in computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Work and Outlook
13. CPC Desirable but not required
14. Experience of planning 100+ tractor units across multiple depots
15. Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed in a pressurised environment
16. Customer focus on delivery performance
17. Commercially and Financially astute and driven to deliver exceptional results.
18. Experience of using a TMS system
19. Experience in an FMCG environment
20. Strong analytical and excel capability across standard formulas
