About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Charge Officer to join the Rent and Service Charge team on a fixed term basis to cover maternity leave. As a Charge Officer, you will be part of a team responsible for the setting of rents and service charges, ensuring they are accurate and correct, along with maximising income.
Duties:
1. Set and review service charges for all property types in accordance with policy, occupation agreements, and legislation ensuring income is maximised.
2. Set and process changes for all rent charges, ensuring rent setting policy, government rent standards, occupation agreements, and legislation are followed.
3. Accurately review financial data relating to service charge expenditure to prepare service charge annual statements and budgets.
4. Calculation and production of service charges for customers with long leases (including Right to Buy leases), freeholders, and homeowners for all relevant costs.
5. Maintain accurate records of charges and deal with queries arising from such charges.
6. Provide re-let rents and service charges to the housing allocation team or where requested by other areas for business needs.
7. Effectively communicate with customers, stakeholders, and colleagues regarding the calculation of all charges.
What you'll need to succeed:
1. Rent and service charge experience.
2. Sound knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements around rent and service charges.
