Family Hubs are part of Kent County Councils offer to support to children and young people, aged 0-19 (25 SEND), and their families.
Our local Family Hubs offer a broad and integrated range of early help services for families, which include midwifery, health visiting, parenting support and activities for children and young people.
We have 56 Family Hubs across Kent, where we operate alongside our partners to support local communities.
We are looking for a Business Support Assistant to be based in our Ashford District, contracted hours being Wednesday: 12:00pm - 4:30pm, Thursday: 8:30am - 4:30pm and Friday: 8:30am - 4:00pm.
The role will have a contractual base within the Ashford District but there is an expectation that you will be able to travel and work flexibly across the District to cover at other Family Hubs in the Ashford localities, including Tenterden.
We are looking for someone to support a range of busy family hubs, greeting, welcoming and signposting families.
This role is key to providing professional support to Family Hub Workers supporting children, young people and families across the District. We are looking for someone with a calm and organised approach who would like to make a positive contribution.
You will need to demonstrate excellent organisation and communication skills. You must be able to proactively manage your workload and support the wider team, whilst responding to urgent requests and deadlines.
You will be required to act confidently as the first point of contact for staff, visitors and partners in this multi-agency environment, and support the opening and closing of hubs as required.
You will be required to support Health & Safety processes and report and monitor any building faults.
We are looking for someone with administrative experience and who is confident dealing with a variety of responsibilities. You should have knowledge and experience in using a range of IT packages, including Microsoft Office and other applications.
You will be responsible for handling sensitive information, checking and recording data, as well as liaising with colleagues to arrange a variety of meetings.
The role is varied and interesting and we can offer opportunities for personal training and development within the service.
