Fantastic opportunity to join an industry leader, established for over 50 years, part of a highly respected group, who value their employee needs as well as their large client base.
They design and manufacture aluminium grilles, diffusers and louvres.
As Technical Estimator you will:
* Review project description, drawings, schedules and assimilate the requirements to produce information that will enable the quote team to respond back to the client.
* Verify the performance of selected products to ensure they meet the customers technical requirements
* Communicate with contracts, project managers, clients & consultants to clarify the requirements of a project such as the aesthetic or integration considerations
* Provide technical support to customers regarding grill specifications, options and applications
* Accurately estimate/plan and specify customer quotes in response to inbound queries and requests using relevant computer estimating systems and other related software, when needed
* Ability to assess and factor in information on production times, materials and labour used
* Maintain and categorise estimates, unit costs and all relevant technical information for future reference.
* Communicate with relevant colleagues to obtain comprehensive and accurate technical information and cost factors before creating final estimate
* Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors
* Maintain technical understanding and proficiency with all product offerings, estimating and IT software tools
* Raise any issues to line manager as appropriate to ensure quote completed to deadline
You will need:
* Transferable technical experience from a similar environment
* HVAC knowledge ideally
* Maths and / or Engineering related education ideally
* Experience or understanding of finishing materials, sheet metals and coating products advantageous
* Strong IT skills including CAD / project software
* Excellent communication skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Ability to troubleshoot when working on estimates to diagnose and recommend solutions it issues
* Good understanding of production processes and equipment use regarding safety and efficiency.
