An exciting opportunity has arisen for qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) who have recent experience in Primary Care to work in our Urgent Treatment Centre.
We require a forward thinking, well organised and motivated individual with a positive attitude.
Interested applicants must be a qualified ACP and hold core advanced practice competencies. Working as an Independent Non-Medical Prescriber is essential.
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner will use specialist knowledge and skills to provide healthcare independently to patients.
You will act as a role model, delivering advanced practice and promoting clinical effectiveness in care. You will be required to work autonomously in delivering independent assessment, clinical examination, diagnosis, prescribing, health promotion, clinical decision making, planning of care and safe discharge of our patients.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be practicing in an independent manner within the Urgent Treatment Centre to provide patient-centred quality care for those patients with primary care presentations. This will encompass the skills of history taking, extended assessment, examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed extended scope of practice whist provided definitive care with limited requirement for supervision.

1. Relevant registered professional qualification (eg NMC/HCPC)
2. MSc in Advanced clinical practice which includes: - Advanced Assessment, diagnosis, referral and discharge - Assessing and managing risk - Critical thinking and analytical skills - Decision making/clinical judgement and problem solving - Higher levels of autonomy - Developing therapeutic interventions to improve service user outcomes - Advanced psychomotor skills - Higher level communication skills - Managing complexity
3. Non-medical prescribing.
Experience / Knowledge
Essential
1. Significant urgent and primary care experience (Minimum 18 months)
2. Experience of working as an autonomous practitioner in out of hours of Primary Care.
3. Significant experience of working in primary care as a highly autonomous practitioner
4. Established Advanced Clinical Practitioner
5. Portfolio of evidence showing skills competence and achievements in practice/speciality
6. Evidence of ability and knowledge on how to undertake audit and feedback
7. Implementation of audit/research recommendations
8. Evidence of audits undertaken and outcomes
9. Clear understanding of urgent and emergency care performance targets and ability to identify opportunities to improve service delivery
10. In-depth understanding of quality issues including clinical governance.
