About the team and the role
Based within the Own Brand, Sourcing and Sustainability team, this role is at the forefront of evolving the way we source our own label products. Specifically within the Strategic Sourcing team, this role is accountable for supporting the Sourcing team to find the balance between sourcing quality own label products at competitive prices. Our ambition is to ensure that every part of the sourcing journey for an own label product is optimised to drive value and quality of the range. Success in this role is improving both our own label product proposition and our competitive position to ultimately delight our customers.
As an Own Label Sourcing Analyst, you will play a pivotal role working within the sourcing team to evolve the way we source existing own label products whilst also identifying the most efficient route to market and right supply partners to work with. From the outset, you will be working with a wide range of stakeholders including Buying, Product Technical and Supply Chain. You will be naturally inquisitive, commercially aware and be able to communicate effectively. A combination of data sufficiency, commercial instinct and stakeholder management will set you apart for this role. This opportunity will help you develop technically and commercially, putting you at the centre of Ocado and its future success.
What you’ll do
1. A data led approach to ensure that the sourcing journey of our own label range is fully optimised - this includes, but is not limited to; the suppliers we work with, route to market, packaging formats, raw material costs and competitiveness
2. Identify and implement improvements to the way we source own label products
3. Use a variety of data sources to provide data-led recommendations to support with the negotiations for our own label offering
4. Identify key trends and market dynamics which could impact the Ocado own label offering
5. Adhere to all internal policies and GSCOP regulations
Who you are
6. Highly numerate and analytical
7. Exceptional commercial awareness and problem-solving ability
8. Strong communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
9. Experience in a retail/e-commerce commercial function or in a FMCG commercial environment
10. Ideally you will have experience working within the food supply chain
11. Tenacious attitude and thrives in a fast paced environment
12. Effective project management skills
13. An inquisitive individual
