About the apprenticeship
Duties
Duties will include shadowing a fully qualified member of the company to learn the skills and methods needed to complete your apprenticeship. Work will involve full and part home re-wires, consumer unit upgrades, fault finding and testing, upgrades such as fittings, switches, cooker, hob etc, spotlights, socket and lighting extensions, security/garden lightings, and so on. Other duties also to be carried out as required when on-site, e.g. maintaining a clean and tidy work area in line with health & safety working practices.

Before applying for this position please ensure you are able to travel to and from the place of employment in Swansea and to the XR Training Centre in Pyle once a week. You will be employed full-time as an Apprentice Electrical Engineer by this company based in Swansea. You will be enrolled onto a level 2 foundation apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering, and undertake the following qualifications:
Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance and Installation
Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Technology
Essential Communication Skills
Essential Application of Number Skills
Essential Digital Literacy Skills
Requirements
Qualifications
GCSE in Maths at grade C or aboveCandidates must be punctual.
Candidates must be flexible with hours worked.
Candidates should hold at least a GCSE in Mathematics at grade C or above.
Must be able to work with others as a part of a team.
Must be able to follow instructions and ask for guidance when necessary.
Candidates should be enthusiastic and committed to both the job and the training.
Prior electrical experience desirable but not essential.
Ability to drive is essential for site work and travelling to the Pyle training centre.
