As an iOS Engineering Manager at Barclays, you’ll take a hands-on leadership role, owning the design, development, testing, and documentation of large-scale, mission-critical mobile applications within the Barclays App team. You’ll work across the entire lifecycle, from inception to deployment, meeting budget, timeline, and quality standards. In addition to technical execution, you'll also provide operational support and drive enhancements to ensure consistent service excellence. This role includes leading a team of talented developers to deliver top-tier solutions in a fast-paced environment. To be successful as an iOS Engineering Manager, you will need the following: Experience of leading a team of engineers & working to Agile / Scrum methodology. Strong knowledge of iOS design principles, patterns, and best practices. Deep understanding of iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, and Core Graphics. Experience with performance and memory tuning with tools such as Instruments. In depth knowledge of best practice software development practices, design patterns, automated testing. In depth knowledge of cocoa pods, swift package manager & related CI tools. Experience working with of REST APIs, GraphQL. Proven experience as an iOS Engineer with a strong portfolio of released applications on the App Store. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Some other highly valued skills may include: Knowledge of other web technologies and UI/UX standards. Knowledge of cross platform mobile development frameworks - React Native. Jenkins/Gitlab/Fastlane & best practice CI processes. Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications. Evaluation and enhancement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency, streamline workflows, and optimize team productivity. Collaboration with business partners, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure a cohesive approach to product development. Enforcement of technology standards, facilitate peer reviews, and implement robust testing practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.
