Job summary
To act as a member of the multi-disciplinary teams, with responsibility for several clinical research studies in Weston General Hospital. The postholder will liaise closely with research teams, patients, carers and study organisers to ensure high quality care and adherence to the study protocols. They will maintain effective communication and safe working practice within a complex regulatory framework. They will be responsible for maintaining a caseload of patients participating in a range of clinical trials across a number of specialties.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Research Nurse is expected to support the management and leadership of the research nurses and administrative staff within the research team. S/he will have knowledge and understanding of the regulatory and legal frameworks related to the planning, undertaking and closure of clinical research studies and therefore acts as a resource for staff, researchers, research participants and patients. S/he will take a lead in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of a designated number of clinical research studies.
Research studies are delivered within the trust across seven days of the week and throughout 24 hours of each day. Research nurses should be flexible in their work patterns in order to deliver this service if the studies require.

1. ICH GCP training or willingness to undertake training
2. Registered Nurse level 1 (Adult) with current NMC registration
3. Evidence of continuing professional development
