QTS Tutor/Teacher – SEN Support
Location: Birmingham
Contract Type: Long-term, until July 2025 (potential to support through GCSEs)
Hours: 4 hours of teaching per week, plus 1 hour for planning and preparation
SMART Education is seeking dedicated and adaptable teachers to support young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in English, Maths, Science, and Art. This rewarding role is ideal for passionate educators committed to helping students achieve their potential.
About the Role:
As an SEN Tutor, you will work 1:1 with students in a home-based setting, either in their family home or a residential environment for Looked After Children (LAC). Teaching responsibilities will depend on the student’s individual needs, offering a blend of the national curriculum and alternative approaches to education.
Key Responsibilities:
Build strong rapport with students, creating a calm and positive learning environment.
Develop and deliver engaging, differentiated lesson plans tailored to individual learning needs.
Support students in subjects such as English, Maths, Science, and Art, including GCSE preparation.
Work collaboratively with schools and other stakeholders to track and report on student progress.
Contribute to the development and implementation of the Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).
