We are seeking a time-served Mechanical Engineer to join our Maintenance team as a Maintenance Fitter. This role is crucial in maintaining, testing, repairing, and cleaning machinery and equipment within our Concrete plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with MIG welding skills being a distinct advantage.
Day to Day of the role:
* Carry out efficient and effective maintenance repair services for all on-site machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and maximised production.
* Perform work as provided in Work Order format from the Maintenance Department.
* Visually inspect, test, and repair machinery and equipment as scheduled.
* Operate welding equipment for general maintenance purposes.
* Implement effective preventative maintenance schedules to minimise disruption to the business.
* Maintain cleanliness and adhere to Health, Safety, and Quality procedures at all times.
* Report any QHSE issues in a timely manner.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in a similar role.
* Strong problem-solving skills with complex machinery.
* Good knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
* Excellent Health, Safety, and Environmental awareness.
* High level of integrity, proactive, self-motivated, resilient, and reliable.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to identify improvements to maximise time and minimise cost.
* Ability to make good decisions in a pressured environment.
* Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
* Good planning and organisational skills.
* Professional conduct and a positive, “can do” attitude.
* Experience with heavy/agricultural machinery is desirable.
