What will you do?
Provide guidance and direct coaching on the PBS plan implementation on a day-to -day basis
Contribute to the functional assessments and PBS plans for individual children and young people we support.
Deliver intensive PBS support to individual children and young people to support a reduction in behaviours of concern, increase life skills and independence, increase community engagement and improve quality of life
Support and guidance to parents/carers and a range of professionals- particularly close work with schools where applicable and local authorities to help maintain educational placements when these are in danger of breaking down.
Holding a full UK driving license and having access to your own vehicle is essential and you should be prepared to travel across the Affinity Trust CYP regions for this role.
Main duties of the job
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioner, working in and around, North East Lincolnshire.
We are looking for someone who has a Positive Behaviour Support qualification BTEC level 4 or above, MSc in ABA or PBS. Experience of delivering support and implementing PBS strategies to children and young people with complex needs and behaviours of concern is also essential. Those near completion of qualification may also be considered. Experience in Trauma Informed Care would be an advantage for this role.
As the Senior PBS Practitioner, you will be working with a young person. The young person is not currently accessing education. A robust PBS plan with strategies to support them to increase their quality of life is to be implemented with support, guidance and training for key stakeholders working with them. The young person does display behaviours of concern however, with the right support and strategies in place we will be able to provide them a safe environment to flourish.
As well as working as part of our team, you will be working in very close partnership with and alongside the young persons family, carers and other professionals to ensure that the PBS strategies keep them living in their current placement and accessing the community.

Reports to: Operational Lead
Job Purpose
To manage and lead the efficient and effective delivery of thePositive Behaviour Support(PBS) service. To manage and provide supervision and guidance to the PBS Practitioners .
To enable children and young people with learning disabilities/ASD and behaviours thatchallenge to remain out of residential care and to improve the quality of life for the child andtheir family. This will be achieved by delivering a PBS service in accordance with legislation,regulatory standards and contractual requirements, ensuring the achievement of AffinityTrust quality and performance objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deliver the highest quality and standards of Positive Behaviour Support to children andyoung people, their families and a range of other professionals, enabling the child/youngperson to continue to live at home.
2. Undertake reviews of multidisciplinary reports and social care assessments includingSEN and contribute to functional assessments of behaviours, Positive BehaviourSupport Plans and risk assessments. Utilise other assessment tools as appropriate inconjunction with the child/young person, family and other professionals.
3. Implement and oversee intervention and support programmes for a designated numberof children/young people and their families and undertake direct work with children,young people, families and a range of other professionals as required.
4. To provide responsive emergency interventions and crisis plans when required.
5. Line manage Specialist Key Workers via frequent 1:1 supervision and annualperformance reviews. Provide guidance and direct coaching on the PBS planimplementation to the Specialist Key Workers on a day-to-day basis.
6. Contribute to the quarterly review of PBS plans and amend as required.
7. Ensure that all Affinity Trust policies and procedures are understood and implementedby staff that report directly to you, to include positive behaviour support, qualityassurance, regulatory frameworks, safeguarding, child protection, criminal records, dataprotection, HR and health and safety
8. Ensure all relevant records in relation to the young people we support and employeesare appropriately maintained and up to date.
9. Involvement in the design and delivery of PBS workshops and coaching for a full rangeof multi-agency professionals to ensure consistency of approach.
10.Identify potential problems, acting proactively to avoid service breakdowns, deal withcomplaints and to mitigate all types of risk.
