Electrical Engineer
We are recruiting for an experienced and customer-facing Electrical Engineer to work for an MOD Contractor covering their commercial building in the Southwest UK.
This role as an Electrical Engineer will require you to provide electrical maintenance and reactive breakdown/repair. This will include providing general maintenance duties/servicing and other maintenance tasks in line with qualifications and experience.
As an Electrical Engineer, you will also be expected to:
1. Complete PDA's on a daily basis to ensure jobs are completed and/or job sheets with accurate description of work can be sent to customers.
2. Complete/review risk assessments prior to starting any piece of work, ensuring all risk is minimized as far as reasonably possible.
3. Provide quotations for any remedial work identified during maintenance visits or breakdowns.
This role for an Electrical Engineer is paying up to £41,000, Monday to Friday 40-hour weeks (6am - 2pm / 10am - 6pm), Call out 1 in 5 and comes with loads of overtime available.
Electrical Engineer Job Description:
The purpose of this role is to carry out technical repairs and PPM's. You will ensure that all technical and compliance paperwork is completed and up to date at all times. All work will be completed to the highest standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with all Health and Safety legislation.
1. Complete the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
2. Respond promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk and assess the requirements of the job, carrying out repairs as necessary.
3. Prioritize electrical maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times.
4. Identify non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and promptly advise the Line Manager of findings, with recommendations regarding suitable replacement.
5. Ensure that compliance documentation is completed and up to date at all times.
6. Advise the on-site customer (manager) of any repair and maintenance issues that are likely to affect the smooth running of the site.
7. Carry out minor alterations and installations within the individual's technical competence in accordance with current specifications.
8. Complete electrical installation projects and refurbishments.
9. Comply with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
10. Represent the company in a professional manner at all times and develop a good working relationship with customer employees.
11. Work with company and customer employees to ensure laid-down standards of quality are maintained at all times.
Requirements:
• NVQ Level 3/City and Guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 or equivalent in electrical installation/Maintenance.
• City and Guilds 18th Edition.
• Quality of repairs and maintenance - plus fabric duties.
• City and Guilds 2391 or 2394/5 - Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations or equivalent.
