JobSummary:
* Tobe responsible for the daytoday delivery of the Street Outreachservice ensuring that shift patterns and practices are set toensure that contact is made and sustained with all people sleepingrough in thearea.
* Responsiblefor overseeing a team of outreach workers ensuring that theappropriate assessments and referrals are conducted and that thereis an action plan with a clear route away from the street for thoseroughsleeping.
KeyDuties/Accountabilities(Sample):
* Developingperformance targets and quality control measures for the work ofthe team and monitoring team members work to ensure that these aremet.
* Responsiblefor setting clear objectives and holding individual supervisionsregularly.
* Ensuringgood communication between staff by holding team meetings regularlyand additional briefings asnecessary.
* Inductingnew staff and planning the continuing development of existing staffand ensure that PDR areundertaken.
* Managingthe workload of the team to ensure that adequate cover is alwaysprovided.
* Ensuringthe health and safety of team members. This will includeimplementing procedures for office safety and use of computerequipment and lone working policies are adheredto.
* Defining(and reviewing from time to time) the roles of staff to ensure thissupport the projects aims andobjectives.
* Todevelop an accurate picture of the number of people sleeping roughin London Borough and the locations where there is good reason tobelieve that people may be sleepingrough.
* Todevelop shift patterns and practices that reflect the roughsleeping patterns and subgroups in London Borough including earlymornings day late nights and at weekends ifrequired.
* Tosupport your team to contact people potentially sleeping rough inLondon Borough and the responsibility of verification of roughsleeping and develop a proactive working relationship with thoseindividuals found to be rough sleeping and ensure that a validapproach to supporting the team to ensure a positiveoutcome.
* Responsiblefor the assessment of yourteam.
* Responsibilityfor the needs of people sleeping rough in yourarea.
* To activelymonitor CHAIN records ensuring that each contact and assessment isrecorded in accordance with the CHAIN recordingguidance.
* Tomaintain constructive working relationships with other departmentswithin thecouncil.
Skills/Experience:
* Experienceof taking a lead in developing street or community outreachservices. Also to supervise and motivate a staff team and tosupport and coach skilled outreach practitioners andvolunteers
* Experienceof delivering and administering an assertive case managementapproach and motivating complex and diverse client groups to engagewithsupport.
* Abilityto broker relationships with services and develop pathways toenable clients to make and sustain positivechange.
* Abilityto work as part of a management team and to initiate and maintaineffective working relationships with colleagues clients thecommunity the police and other externalagencies.
* Knowledgeof the services and legislative environment regarding housinghealth work and immigration as it relates to homelesspeople.
* Abilityto record and report work to a good standard using IT systems aswell as writtenrecords.

* AFull UK or equivalent driving license is required for thispost.
Experience of taking a lead in developing street or communityoutreach services. Also to supervise and motivate a staff team andto support and coach skilled outreach practitioners and volunteersExperience of delivering and administering an assertive casemanagement approach and motivating complex and diverse clientgroups to engage with support. Ability to broker relationships withservices and develop pathways to enable clients to make and sustainpositive change.
