Key responsibilities of the Finance Project – Technical Lead:
1. To be an active member of the project team to partner with our chosen external supplier to complete the successful implementation of a new finance system, delivering to agreed timescales
2. To co-ordinate workshops at design stage to ensure that requirements and configurations are clearly documented.
3. To plan and manage the successful migration of historical data from the old system to the new system.
4. To help implement new processes and controls to support the finance system implementation and ensure these are fully documented.
5. In conjunction with the DDaT Department, oversee the successful integration of the solution within the existing systems architecture and appropriate interfaces with existing systems, working closely with, and directing relevant systems experts, within the Service.
6. To ensure all security controls are in place in the system, providing users with the necessary access dependent on their roles/departments.
7. To provide training and support to the users of the new system in readiness for the go-live date. This will include writing a suite of training notes and guides for all users to access once the system is live.
8. To produce a suite of standard reports and bespoke versions as and when required
9. To manage relevant Finance staff by ensuring that work is allocated appropriately, work plans agreed, results are monitored, feedback given and any performance issues are resolved. To also ensure these post holders has sufficient skills to cover any absence of the Finance Systems manager role ensuring business continuity.
10. Provide mentoring, support and guidance through the Personal Development Review process and ensure that all staff receive appropriate training and development to enable them to carry out their roles effectively and efficiently.
Our Identity
What we are looking for in our Finance Project – Technical Lead:
11. Relevant experience working in an accountancy environment.
12. AAT qualified or equivalent
13. Experience in the administration of computerised financial systems.
14. Able to handle a varied workload within set deadlines
15. Ability to manage complex issues and have sound analytical and problem solving skills
16. Ability to operate with probity, e.g. awareness and adherences to all legislative regulations relating to financial matters.

17. Experience of administering a system including access controls and the use of workflows.
18. An understanding of an accounting coding structure and how these all fit to provide different ‘views’ of the data.
19. An understanding of data migration including mapping of an old coding structure, so it maps across to a new coding structure.
20. Experience of delivering training in the use of a product.
