We have an exciting opportunity for a General Manager to run the warehousing and transport operation for our customers based onsite in Liverpool, managing the day-to-day operations and the strategic customer relationships.

We make promises to our customers, and we'll make promises to you too. The key responsibilities in this role include;
1. Take full leadership, operational and financial responsibility for managing a safe, efficient operational standards and profitable site for the organization and the customers. Maximize the contribution of the site departments and functions while balancing multiple and competing requirements.
2. Align Objectives & KPIs applicable to your team and consider how these have an impact on site results, including the required frequency for tracking them, how the results are calculated, and on which report they can find the results - including communication to new leaders on your team as part of the onboarding process.
3. Responsibility for recruiting and developing direct reports and managing performance within local guidelines and provide leadership for the sites in assessing potential, developing talent and succession planning.
4. Lead commercial reviews with the customer and develop customer relationships year-on-year to ensure customer retention and loyalty.
5. Align volume forecast with customer and review monthly resource planning with Operations Manager/Site Manager, developing a work strategy for next month / period, including peaks and valleys' seasons.
6. Ensure the site health and safety risks are analysed and understood and actions are in place to reduce or eliminate these risks, taking personal accountability for any risk mitigation project with a multiyear target completion time.

7. Previous experience in managing large scale logistic Operations, warehouse, and transport – Essential.
8. Previous experience working with Trade Unions – Essential.
9. Demonstratable understanding of closed and open book contracts.
10. Capability of planning, defining, and deploying strategic plans.
11. Ability to drive Standards within the operations, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
