Challenging times need caring people! We are currently looking to further develop our Home to Decide service and recruit to our existing team of Care Responders.
We are looking for people who may have experience of working in the care sector or interested in starting a career working directly with people living in south Gloucestershire, who are being discharged from hospital into their own homes.
What will you be doing?
1. You will be working with our residents supporting them at home following a stay in hospital, aiming to improve their quality of life and increase independence.
2. If you like variety and a fast-paced role, this could be the job for you. You will be required to with independent living and care to keep individuals safe at home.
3. You will be required to keep accurate records of your visits in line with Council guidelines. You will work closely with practitioners to implements care and support plans referring issues and discuss and raise concerns as necessary in accordance with Safeguarding Procedures to protect vulnerable people.
4. You will be allocated residents within South Gloucestershire, and it will be your role to visit them in their own residential homes. The Home to Decide Service offer a response service 7 days a week between the hours of 7.00am – 10.00pm. All Care Responders are guaranteed contracted hours which will be worked on a rota basis.
What we need from you
5. A key requirement of this role is your ability to show sensitivity and empathy in your work with people who may have varying needs both physical and emotional and be able to manage challenging behaviour e.g., behavioural difficulties in homes and/or the community. You will need to adopt a flexible approach to your role.
6. You will need to demonstrate you can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
7. You will hold a clean and valid driving licence and your own transportation, you will be required and expected to travel across the South Gloucestershire catchment area, mileage expenses will be paid.
8. Although not essential, you may have experience of working in a care sector and be able to demonstrate knowledge of relevant Care Act legislation and regulations.
9. You may hold a relevant vocational qualification e.g. RCF - LEVEL 2 and /or hold a CQC Care Certificate. If successful, you will be required to complete the CQC Care Certificate qualification.
Please note that due to the nature of this role it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is obtained for this post.
This role is based at Badminton Road, Yate but will be covering the whole of South Gloucestershire.
