About the role:
We are looking for a Learning Facilitator to join our Additional Support Department based at Bedford College. As a Learning Facilitator you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students by:
Supporting the development of study skills, including literacy and numeracy skills to students with an identified Learning Difficulty and/or Disability
Developing and maintaining resources to support the needs of students with an identified Learning Difficulty and/or Disability
Maintaining relevant documentation in line with College requirements
Providing out of class study skills support to students with an identified Learning Difficulty and/or Disability on a 1-1 or small group basis
Supporting the development of literacy and numeracy skills
Administering and assessing tests and invigilate tests such as initial assessments
Liaising with curriculum staff to support students to continue to develop their skills within the Study Centre
Maintaining and developing a range of learning resources to support students attending the Study Centre including assistive technologies.
Working with the Head of Department to allocate effective support within the Study Centre to meet the needs of students with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities
About you:
Educated to Level 3 (A level or equivalent) standard
Level 3 Award in Education and Training
GCSE Maths and English (grades A* – C) or equivalent
Experience of providing support to individuals in an educational or care setting
Experience of working with students with a range of learning difficulties and/or disabilities
Recent experience of administrative work in an office environment
Experience of working with students across a wide age and ability range, and within a variety of vocational contexts
Evidence of high performance in previous roles/jobs
Experience of working effectively with people/clients from diverse backgrounds
Evidence of understanding how to promote equality and diversity within the job role
