Southmead Surgery is a village practice, located in a converted Edwardian house, caring for 7,800 patients. We are a Training Practice.
We are a small, friendly team with low staff turnover.
Main duties of the job
We operate a total triage system. Duties will include booking appointments, dealing with phone queries, meeting & greeting patients & admin tasks as required
About us
We are a 3 Partner practice. We have 3 Salaried GPs, a Nursing Team, Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Physician's Associate, Clinical Pharmacist Team, in house Physiotherapist, 2 Social Prescribers, in house phlebotomist.

Job responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities to be undertakenby members of the practice reception team may include any or all of theitems in the following list. Duties maybe varied from time to time under the direction of the seniorreceptionist/practice manager, dependent on current and evolving practiceworkload and staffing levels:
1. Confidently using the clinical system after appropriate training.Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures
2. Assisting patients with on-line systems
Processing personal and telephonerequests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations, and ensuringcallers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional
Taking messages and passing oninformation
Initiating contact with andresponding to requests from patients, other team member and associatedhealthcare agencies and providers
Providing clerical assistance to practicestaff as required from time to time, including word, data processing, filing,photocopying and scanning
Provision of refreshments for staffand visitors as required; loading and emptying the dishwasher and keeping thekitchen area clean and tidy
Keeping the reception area tidy and free from obstructions andclutter
