Residential Support Worker
Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum dependent on experience plus an opportunity to earn an additional £5,200 per annum based on an average of 2 sleep-in per week

This Residential Support Worker role guides a dedicated team through shifts with expertise and empathy.

Once you have gained the relevant experience and qualifications you'll be ready to progress to the next step in your career with us.
The shifts for this role are typically worked over 5 days with a set weekend off every four weeks. Examples of this include morning shifts starting at 7am (finishing between 11am and 2pm), afternoon shifts starting between midday and 2pm (finishing at 9pm and 10pm) and waking nights starting at 9pm (finishing at 8am). There is also a requirement to complete Sleep-ins which are paid £50 additional per sleep in to salary. All shifts will be given in advance and are allocated on a rolling rota basis.
About the service
Ty Laura provides Short Break overnight stays for children with complex additional learning and health needs on a minimum of 2 nights per month basis. We support up to 4 children a night, across 6 days a week. As part of a friendly and supportive team you will provide opportunities for the young people to develop socially, behaviourally, emotionally, independent living skills as well as supporting them to integrate in their local community.
Our aim is to provide opportunities and experiences that widen the individuals sense of belonging through our individualised support. We want our children to be seen for the happy, bubbly individuals they are and not their disability. You will support them to attend trips including bowling, cinema, Buzz Trampoline park etc as well as supporting with medication, personal care, feeding and dressing.
You'll be a key role model to the people we support. Your role will also require you to attend training, team meetings and take part in supervisions to aid your development and ability to provide high quality individualised support to our young people.
How you'll help to create brighter futures
* Provide lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managing risk.
* Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports.
* Attendance at professional meetings including reviews, court work etc.
* Lead shifts with the primary aim of the provision of a high-quality service.
* Supervise and guide staff as required, in accordance with Action for Children policies and procedures.
* Lead by example with the application of Action for Children's policy procedures and professional practice standards and in line with registration requirements

Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We're looking for someone with a 'can do' attitude to join our team. Ideally you'll have:
* Experience of leading Shifts in a Care setting
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or recognised equivalent).
* Flexibility to work a variety of shift patterns as agreed via the rolling rota.
* Experience and training in safeguarding
* An innovative and creative approach to problem solving
* Experience of developing tailored care plans
* The ability to create a safe and fun environment for both staff and children in the home and in the community
