Senior Data Modeller who must demonstrate experience setting up and developing an Enterprise Data Model.
You will be the internal Data Modelling expert, providing advice on specialist data modelling related matters across the organisation working with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Data Digital and Technology team deliverables, that utilise your expertise to ensure successful outcomes across team members and collaborating teams.
* Lead the determination of data layer requirements by analysing organisational and market needs and evaluating current systems.
* Set standards for data modelling and design tools and techniques, advise on their application.
* Collaborate with senior leadership to define data strategy and ensure alignment with business goals.
* Lead the development, validation, publishing, and maintenance of conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support the data knowledge requirements.
* Lead on the creation and development of the enterprise data model.
* Provide mentorship and leadership of modelling practitioners and guide them in best practices, modelling techniques and collaborative efforts. Validate modelling activities across the organisation.
* Design and maintain metadata repositories enabling the organisation to find and understand their data assets.
* Define, manage and maintain data models using industry standard modelling and profiling tools and techniques across disparate data streams.
* Support the development, integration, administration, and evolution of data structures, ensuring efficiency, scalability and quality. Continuously monitor to enhance performance and reduce latency.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation of models, standards and best practices for reference and future enhancements.
* Ensure architectural and engineering concepts are defined and embedded to design solutions that meet operational requirements, such as scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability and manageability.
* Define, design, develop and embed best practice data modelling standards into the wider architectural community.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, helping to further good data management and enable data analytics.
* Identify opportunities for expansion of data models and their enrichment.
* Be the focal point and expert in a multi-disciplinary team in a specific work area in the context of operating in a professional and flexible resourcing model.
* Plan, oversee and deliver a set of work deliverables on time and to a high standard through effective project management and support of multidisciplinary team members.
Essential
* Must be able to demonstrate setting up and developing an Enterprise Data Model.
* Experience mentoring and ability to upskill Architect DLAP Modelling.
* Can help develop strategy on a data enterprise model.
* Strong experience developing OLAP data models.
* Strong experience of leading the evaluation development and maintenance of metadata repositories, logical data models, physical database structures and database queries according to best practice (expert knowledge of SQL required).
* Excellent mentoring and coaching ability and provide technical advice and guidance.
* Ability to communicate in technical detail on topics of data lineage, data usage and data structures.
* Demonstrable experience using data modelling tools and industry standard techniques to capture and document data artefacts.
* Strong stakeholder management with the ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable, interoperable, and flexible data models.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain analytic process concepts and technologies to business leaders, as well as business concepts to technologists.
Desirable Criteria
* Track record of working within a cloud-based technology landscape.
* Experience in integrating complex, cross-organisation processes and data models, ideally within the public sector or a highly regulated environment.
