An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of ASN / Hearing Impaired / Communication to join our team at our excellently resourced Montfield Office Block
Candidates should detail in their application whether they currently hold registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS). If not, candidates should detail in their application whether they have sought confirmation that they will be able to be registered with the GTCS.
As well as the relevant qualifications and experience, qualities we are looking for in the successful candidate are: vision, energy, initiative, good communication skills and self-discipline.

The hearing and communication service supports children from 0-19 who have identified hearing and/or communication support needs to access the curriculum. The service works closely in partnership with local and national services, such as audiology and speech and language therapy. The teacher would use and help embed the Total Communication approach to supporting learners. The teacher would work alongside parents, schools and partner agencies providing advice, information and training, and contribute to pupil multi-agency planning meetings. The teacher would liaise closely with NHS services to help embed recommended adaptations and support approaches to help learners achieve their potential.
There would be an expectation that the teacher would undertake all relevant specialist training to enable them to directly support and advise on support within mainstream settings. Having experience in, or willingness to learn BSL as a priority would be an advantage. There is a requirement to undertake training to become a qualified teacher of the Deaf following appointment.
