Our client, a leader in distributed energy storage, is currently looking to hire a Director - Battery Systems Engineering to join their team. The successful candidate will develop battery systems, integrating battery hardware and software for the MAX energy storage system. The Director - Battery Systems Engineering will: Integrate hardware and control systems to meet grid code regulations including G99/G100 in the UK and equivalents for a range of international countries. Lead control systems R&D to enhance systems and develop new features. Complete DFMEAs, and design for functional safety to ISO26262, engineering systems for compliance with regulations, standards, and best practices. Develop the portable battery testing kit and back-end system to characterise all packs, iterating algorithm assessment to improve throughput. Lead battery systems strategy and software engineering team to develop robust systems, developing new concepts, features and prototypes. Identify new technologies and potential IP, support patent applications. The Director - Battery Systems Engineering will have: Master’s degree in engineering, science, or a related field. 5-10 years of engineering experience within electric vehicles and HV batteries. Expertise in Python, Embedded C/C++ and embedded Linux applications. Ability to control CANBus. Power Electronics understanding - the energy produced from a battery pack & how it works. AC/DC DC/AC bidirectional power conversion nature. Strong understanding of software compliance and functional safety standards such as MISRA, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, CMMI, ASPICE, or UL 1998.
