Main duties of the job
The postholder will maintain own clinical skills and competencies and have excellent communication skills. The postholder will work within the NMC Code of professional standards and behaviour, and Trust guidelines and procedures.
The postholder will work within the multi-professional team and will be responsible for the delivery of safe, effective and evidence-based midwifery care for service users attending the Milton Keynes University Hospital.
The postholder will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of midwifery care needs of the individual in hospital and community settings depending on allocation to the in-patient area of continuity of care teams.
The postholder will provide accurate, unbiased, non-judgemental evidence-based information to both the multi-professional team and service users.
To provide professional, high-quality coordinated patient care to women and their families, aiming to improve the management of their respiratory condition, within agreed protocols and allocated resources.
To holistically assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of patients within their sphere of responsibility.
Person Specification
Qualifications and knowledge
Essential
* Registered Midwife on the NMC professional register
* Degree or equivalent experience
* Evidence of ongoing relevant continuing professional development, linked to clinical competencies
Desirable
* MSSP/ENB 997/998 or similar teaching/mentorship qualification

* Completed Preceptorship and currently working at Band 6
* Proven skills and knowledge in all areas including antenatal/intrapartum and postnatal management
