About the Role:

The ideal candidate will work closely with other designers, artists, and developers to design, implement, and refine game mechanics, levels, and interactive experiences that captivate players.
Role Overview:
As a Game Designer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and balancing core gameplay mechanics, designing levels, and creating intuitive, player-focused systems. You’ll play an active role in defining and refining the game’s vision, translating concepts into compelling gameplay experiences. The role involves balancing creativity with technical knowledge and using player feedback to iterate on and polish gameplay elements. Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement core gameplay mechanics and features that align with the game’s vision.
2. Develop level layouts, progression, and pacing to ensure an engaging player experience.
3. Work closely with artists, programmers, and other designers to develop cohesive and compelling game systems.
4. Create clear documentation and specifications for mechanics, levels, and systems.
5. Conduct regular playtesting sessions, analyze player feedback, and iterate on game designs.
6. Balance and fine-tune gameplay elements to achieve high levels of fun, engagement, and accessibility.
7. Prototype and test new gameplay ideas, systems, and mechanics.
8. Collaborate with the QA team to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve design-related issues.
9. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and best practices in game design.
10. Contribute creative ideas and solutions to improve gameplay and player engagement.
11. Communicate and present design ideas clearly to team members and stakeholders.
12. Ensure that all design elements meet quality standards and align with the overall game direction.
Requirements:
1. 4+ years of experience in a games studio in a similar role.
2. Proven experience as a Game Designer, with a portfolio of completed projects.
3. Strong understanding of game design principles, mechanics, and systems.
4. Experience with level design, including layout, pacing, and player progression.
5. Proficiency with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
6. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
7. Ability to write clear, concise, and detailed design documentation.
8. Experience with player feedback loops, testing, and iteration.
9. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
10. Ability to adapt to new tools, technology, and design challenges.
11. Familiarity with balancing, progression, and reward systems in games.
12. Understanding of UI/UX principles is a plus.
13. Experience with scripting or basic programming is a bonus.
14. Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
