Job Title: 1-1 Teaching Assistant (SEMH School)

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1-1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 7 student in an SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school based in the Wirral. This role requires an individual who can build a positive, trusting relationship with a young person and provide a supportive, calming presence in the classroom. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in sports, particularly football and physical education, and use this to engage the student effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1-1 support to a Year 7 student with SEMH needs, both academically and socially.
* Foster a calm, nurturing environment to ensure the student feels safe and able to engage in their learning.
* Utilize your knowledge and interest in sports, especially football, to motivate the student and create an engaging learning experience.
* Assist with the planning and delivery of activities, particularly those related to sports and PE, to enhance the student’s physical and emotional well-being.
* Collaborate with the wider teaching and support team to develop strategies that promote the student’s independence and resilience.
What We're Looking For:
* A genuine passion for working with young people in an SEMH setting.
* An interest or background in sports, particularly football, to help foster engagement and build rapport.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships based on trust and respect.
* Patience, empathy, and resilience, with a calm and supportive approach to behaviour management.
* Previous experience in a similar role or setting is advantageous but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
