This key new role, Senior Network Automation Engineer will play a leading role in the use of Automation Technologies at AllPoints Fibre, ensuring engineering and operational efficiency for our business.

The Senior Network Automation Engineer will work within the Networks function of the CTO office, contributing to network design, network engineering and lead on the use of automation technologies.
Due to the level of the automation we are driving, an essential requirement of this role is a background in Network Engineering and expertise in automation/software within the telecoms sector.
What you will be doing:
The role will have accountability for high/low level design and the implementation of AFPNs networks and systems infrastructure. Working within the CTO office, collaborating within the Networks function and with other APFN teams, the role will contribute to project delivery, technology development and R&D. Deep knowledge of Network Engineering, a passion for infrastructure automation, and a demonstrable career background in Telco/Service Provider.
* Contributing to the network infrastructure design and implementation. High level / low level documentation across core and access, and documentation for complex networks, including system components to support the current, transformation and future APFN needs.
* Analysing network and automation technologies and making recommendations to influence technical direction.
* Use of automation and scripting tooling, scripting, etc to drive efficiencies in network and systems architecture, implementation, capacity and performance management.
* Reviewing, maintaining, and improving network standards to ensure they continue to meet best practice guidelines and are fully documented.
* Engineering build and operational escalation support, providing hands-on expertise and excellent documentation.
* Collaborating to optimise network and network systems for resilience, performance, security and scalability.
* Engaging with the networks, systems and project teams, to ensure solutions are functional and tested End to End, with documented dependencies.
* Interface with BSS/OSS Systems development teams to enable the orchestration and integration of the Network OSS platform with vendor OSS and other network systems (including Network OLT, BNG, RADIUS, DHCP, etc).
* Drive the components of technology pertinent to successful execution of the Technology Group objectives.
* Ensure systems and solutions are developed, acquired or deployed with commercial and financial responsibility.
About you:
You will be a network engineering expert with an understanding of ISP network architecture, network protocols and technologies, adept at detailed analytics and problem solving.

* Ansible, Gitlab.
* Python, Go, Bash.
* Modern routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS), and IPv6, CGNAT, MPLS, BGP-LU / Seamless.
* XGS-PON access technologies (Adtran, Nokia).
